Whistleblowers

Last updated on 14. December 2023

If you have concrete and well-founded indications of legal violations in connection with a professional activity for Speech Processing Solutions GmbH or suspect such violations, we would like to encourage you to report them to us.

Speech Processing Solutions has set up a whistleblowing system for this purpose. The legal basis is the EU Whistleblowing Directive and the Austrian Whistleblower Protection Act (HSchG).

Which legal violations can you report via the whistleblowing system?

The whistleblower system is used to report potential violations of the law in the areas specified in Section 3 HSchG. These include, among others:

  • Public procurement
  • Product safety and conformity
  • Environmental protection
  • Public health
  • consumer protection
  • Data protection
  • Corruption / bribery / abuse of office
  • Infringements to the detriment of the Union's financial interests
  • Violations of internal market rules

Are you protected from disadvantages as a whistleblower?

Whistleblowers are protected against disadvantages under employment law or other forms of pressure under the conditions specified in the law. Whistleblowers are protected if they have obtained information about violations of the law due to their current or former professional relationship with Speech Processing Solutions in their capacity as an employee, leased worker, applicant, intern, volunteer, self-employed person, member of a management/administrative/supervisory body, employee of a subcontractor/supplier. Moreover, whistleblowers are only protected if the infringement falls within the scope of the law (see previous question).

Please note that the protection only applies if you, as the whistleblower can assume that the report is true. It is prohibited by law and punishable by law to knowingly submit false reports.

How can you submit a report?

The internal reporting office can be reached at the e-mail address hinweisgeberIn@speech.com

Please note that no complaints, claims or general inquiries, requests or complaints are processed via this whistleblower system.

What happens to the report? Will the report be treated confidentially?

Reports received are recorded and processed by our company's internal reporting office. The internal reporting office consists of specially trained persons who are not bound by instructions and who must process reports impartially and without bias.

The internal reporting office is subject to strict confidentiality and non-disclosure obligations with regard to reported matters. Information about your report will only be passed on to those persons who absolutely need to be informed in order to clarify the incident. If necessary, external consultants, in particular auditors and legal representatives, may also be consulted for clarification and follow-up measures. These are also subject to strict confidentiality obligations.
